The goal is to establish vanpooling as a desirable commute option and grow the number of vanpools through a positive and consistent reinforcement of the promotional messages, and through the service we provide.

Cluster Analysis

Our mapping analysis tool provides a picture in time of your employees' commute patterns using zip code data. A review of the distribution of your employees and commute distances allows us to prioritize the outlying cities and commuting corridors best suited for vanpool group formations. The data also serves as a joint roadmap used to design and implement an employer tailored targeted marketing plan to reach employees who are predisposed to participate in a vanpool. This tool becomes powerful when coupled with a commute survey.

Commute Surveys

Our electronic survey tool gathers data to reveal the attitudes of your employees, especially if fluctuating or high gas prices, traffic congestion, or long distance trips are having a negative impact on daily commutes. The survey contains a short list of questions to gain a better understanding of how your employees presently get to work and what impacts their mode choice. The information is tabulated and reviewed with you and incorporated into a targeted marketing plan to reach employees who are predisposed to participate in a vanpool. This tool becomes more powerful when coupled with our mapping analysis.

Commuter Choice

Simply put, Commuter Choice is a tax benefit for employers and their employees who use vanpools or public transit to commute to work. More importantly, it's a way for you to help your employees improve their lives by giving them options for their daily commute.

Here's how it works. Your employee – let's call him John - can choose to set aside up to $230 per month, on a pre-tax basis, to spend on qualified commuting costs. As the employer, you deduct this amount from John's regular pay, and provide a commute voucher. John then applies the voucher toward the cost of commuting. By setting aside the $230 on a pre-tax basis, he saves money on the cost of commuting, and you'll save on a portion of the employer tax. It's a great incentive for your employees to use mass transit!

As the employer, you also have the option of paying for a portion, or all, of John's Commuter Choice benefit. While not required, employers that do find it's a cost effective way to promote the benefits of mass transit to their workforce.

Commuter Bucks

Many employers provide transportation benefits to their employees who ride transit, vanpool or use qualified parking. To help administer this transportation benefit program for employees who vanpool, we offer an easy to use voucher program called CommuterBucks. Employers purchase CommuterBuck coupons and distribute them to employees who in turn use the voucher to pay for their vanpool. CommuterBucks are available in any denomination allowing maximum flexibility for the employer. They can also be used under a pre-tax benefit program, offering employers and their employees a safe means of saving money on commute costs.
